Issues Arising From Editing
During the editing stage of the film I was faced with numerous problems some were harder than others but I was able to overcome them by doing extra research and also through trial and error.
Adding the titles/credit
I struggled with adding the title and credits, as it wasn’t saving on to my computer so I wasn’t able to upload the image before the credits. As the image I had created was on LiveType had the title of the film. To solve the problem I had to create my live type image on a different computer save it and add import it to my film.
Adding music-
I struggled with adding music to the footage as I was struggling to trim down the clip so that it could be placed in the right position on the clip. Through repetitively trying to trim and improvising on how I could achieve this it finally worked. I was able to place the sound on to the correct clip.
Another struggle was trimming down a voice note on a particular scene and having to mute the whole scene. It was a struggle as I wasn’t able to move the voice note immediately on to the scene but through trial and error I was able to trim the voice note and add it to the clip to make the scene include a voice over.
Cutting down the footage-
When I began editing the film I started with 30 minutes of footage and I didn’t know where I was going to start with trimming the footage to 5 minutes. Let alone just a little under to leave me with 20 seconds to add the credits and title. I thought of a strategy on how to edit the footage which was too watch all the footage and get a feel of all the scenes as I knew that some scenes were duplicated as it took more then one take to record. After I watched the film I was able to note down the scenes and I went back scene by scene editing the footage which left me with 11 minutes which I was very happy with. From 11 minutes I was able to continue editing and I couldn’t stop as I was being so precise and I gathered more of an idea of how I wanted each scene to look and include.
Lighting –The lighting in a particular scene was not consistent which I worried about as I worried about not having the time to film again as it was a struggle to have the actors free on the next day so I started analysing the lighting carefully and I was able to edit the lighting which made it more consistent and I asked my teacher and she approved of this.
Importing the film- there was an issue in the beginning because when the card reader and the camera were connected the film was not being located on the computer. This was a big issue because I was thinking that I had to film again as the film was not being located. However I was able to locate the film by reconnecting it and it took a while to import on the computer however it imported finally after an hour and it opened on Imovie successfully .

We decided to log the issues so that we could see how we overcame the issues for future projects.
