Ancillary Texts

This week there was more of a focus on the ancillary texts that have to go with the short film. The aim of creating these texts is to have a clear brand identity running through the whole production meaning audiences will be able to identify that the texts belong to our production company. Before creating the texts it was important for the group to research the conventions that film reviews and film posters have in order to produce texts that were professional and realistic.

We decided to compare the difference between feature film posters and short film posters that belong to the same genre as it showed us how the different types of film were represented to audiences through the posters.

When researching into film reviews we looked at magazine reviews both online and in magazines to look into how the presentation differed or how the writer communicated their opinion to the reader.
